As we gather today, we acknowledge the history,
spirituality, culture, and stewardship of the land of the Indigenous people of
this region, most recently the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation who are
Anishinaabe Ojibwe people. We seek to live in respect, peace, and right
relations with them as we live, work, and worship upon their traditional
territory. We are also mindful of broken covenants and the need to strive to
make right with all our relations.

Opening Prayer (예배를여는기도)
Great God of change and growth,
we are wary of your Spirit’s power
We want to be changed
but changed only according to our terms.
We don't really want to take your good news
seriously enough to affect everything in our lives,
just some aspects!
Help us embrace your power
so that any change is possible,
Remark and refashion us as disciplesand servants
ready to proclaim the good news. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom
come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily

WILLOWDALE EMMANUEL UNITED CHURCH COVID 19 UPDATE:
In light of the government announcement
8th, 2020 regarding the re-opening of
places of worship, we offer the following information:
1. While the
government has indicated that places of worship may open as of June 12th with
a maximum church capacity of 30% at any one time, we recognize the extensive
protocols that must be in place to safely re-open our church. The protocols
include the training of clergy, staff and volunteers as well as ensuring
appropriate cleaning supplies, signage and capacity control methods be
prepared. These protocols will take time to develop and with the
acknowledgement that July and August typically have reduced church attendance,
the Emergency Response team has made the decision to maintain the closure of
WEUC until further notice.
2. Online worship
services via YouTube will continue. In the coming weeks, more
information about service schedules and staff holidays will be announced.
Montessori School will tentatively re-open July
6th based on enrollment and pending approval of their health and safety
policy by the Ministry of Education. We are allowing this specific renter
to return to WEUC since their point of building access will be restricted to
the south entrance and their activities will be confined to the second floor.
Adherence to all Ministry of Education protocols including cleaning/sanitizing,
maximum number of students per area and student/teacher ratios will be the
responsibility of Yorktown Montessori School management.
We also want to encourage
people to continue their church givings while we are out of the building. For those not on pre-authorized remittance
(PAR), please mail your offerings in to the church (via cheque - if you can, please provide post-dated cheques)
